The 25 Suenu Memorial Scholarship Initiative

Meet the Winchester Aid Alliance's 2025-2026 Suenu Memorial Scholarship Initiative Winner!!

It is safe to say that Irish Clark, this year's winner of the 25 Suenu Memorial Scholarship Initiative, encompasses the exact academic and personal student characteristics envisioned upon the scholarship's inception by the Winchester Aid Alliance. Irish's academic journey at Alabama State University may not mirror that of a more 'standard' one, but it does, however, serve as a true testament that placing education as a priority can ultimately lead to future successes and personal triumphs.

The Meridian, MS-born graduating senior is majoring in Health Information Management, and is a self-proclaimed 'non-traditional,' first-generation student, attending ASU several years after graduating high school. Irish is currently recognized as an honor student, maintaining an impressive 4.0 GPA. She continues to make an impact on campus as an active member of several student organizations, including the First-Generation Scholars Club, Student Support Services (TRIO), and the Student Health Information Management Association (SHIMA). She is also a presidential member of the National Society of Leadership and Success and an ASU Library Club member.

This spring, her family and friends will be delighted to see Irish acknowledged as the first family member to obtain a bachelor's degree.  After receiving said degree, she plans to enroll in graduate school, where she will work towards a master's in Health Information Administration, specializing in maternal and child health.

Please join our organization in congratulating Irish on this great accomplishment!
